Fenicia

The boat we offer is an elegant Hanse 508 produced by the renowned German shipyard of the same name, which boasts a shipbuilding experience of over a century. Officially founded in 1990 with the start of production in a shipyard dating back to 1911, the Hanse Yacht AG shipyard has been carrying on a tradition of navigation and shipbuilding since 1287 in a region located in northern Germany near the city of Greifswald which overlooks the Baltic Sea, creating solid luxury sailing yachts for sailing on the high seas.

A high level of quality is given by the commitment of the designers Judel and Vrolijk & co, a brand that signed American's Cup victorious boat designs. They perfectly form the sail plan of this boat with the use of highly sophisticated calculation models, which guarantee the best sailing characteristics in all weather and sea conditions making this yacht one of the fastest and safest in its class.

Fenicia was launched for the first time in…. 2021 following a construction delegation from the company "Fenicia Cruise" which sought characteristics in the design such as solidity and sturdiness, elegance, high level of comfort, versatility and luxury.

Why the name Fenicia

Fenicia (Phenicia) in ancient times was a region corresponding roughly to today's Lebanon. Its geographic conformation, with a narrow coastal strip bordered by long and high mountain ranges, meant that its inhabitants, the Phoenicians, had a natural link with the sea.

We don't know how the Phoenicians called themselves but we still have the name given to them by the Greeks, phoinikés (reds), probably in relation to one of the activities that these people carried out: the extraction from a mollusk of a red substance, the purple, used for dyeing fabrics. In part of our furnishings, we have chosen to use this color.

The connection of Phenicia with the sea is omnipresent: the mountains of the hinterland were covered with cedar forests which provided the most valuable material for the construction of the masts of the ships; the activities that the Phoenicians practiced, from the engagement of their fleets in naval battles, to the slaughter of tuna, to the trade practiced on a large scale. This all made them among the greatest navigators of the ancient world. They used all the routes of the Mediterranean, where they founded colonies in Sardinia, Sicily, Spain and on the African coasts. They pushed beyond the Strait of Gibraltar, reaching Portugal and the British Isles; they had the daring to complete the circumnavigation of Africa, crossing the Atlantic and the Indian Oceans, while some disputed Phoenician inscriptions found in a locality on the Brazilian coast have been invoked as proof of alleged relations between the Near East and pre-Columbian cultures. For many centers of Sardinia, including the capitol, Cagliari, Phenicia was the homeland of origin. Somehow we still feel this bond and the strong seafaring connotation of its people makes us feel in symbiosis with it. It was therefore natural for us to draw inspiration for the name of our boat from this harmony.

Phenicia represents for us the departure towards the destinations that have always enchanted us. It evokes the sea, travel, adventure and our greatest passions ... In adopting this name, we want to pay homage to a land that has given so much to the art of navigation and the evolution of shipbuilding, in the hope that it is a positive omen for a good wind to accompany us on all our and your travels.

Fenicia’s equipment

One of the most important moments of the Fenicia Cruise company was in the choice of the boat and the way in which we could equip it to enchant our passengers. The characteristics to be sought were clear: comfort, elegance, livability, versatility, but above all safety and therefore great solidity of the structure. We therefore based our idea on a boat with a defined "owner's" equipment, that is, with ample space available, high natural luminosity, essential for psychophysical well-being.

The boarding has been designed by offering two separate entrances, one at the stern via the spacious electrically foldable beach, and one at the side via the exclusive royal ladder made specifically and handcrafted for Fenicia. Once on board, you will be amazed by the elegance of the main deck, furnished with natural wood for the entire length of the boat and the large spaces that can be used to move on board safely. The large wheelhouse, sheltered, if necessary, by comfortable spray wood and awning, houses the control area with two steering wheels and respective dashboards. In addition, there are two electric tables that can be transformed into very comfortable sunbathing sofas. Below deck, however, as soon as you walk down the entrance stairs, you will be impressed by the elegance and breadth of the area in which to share pleasant convivial moments, furnished with high quality wood and tapestries. Precious attention has been assigned to the sleeping area, characterized by two suites and a cabin plus a cabin reserved for the crew, in order to guarantee privacy and exclusivity.

To meet the most personal needs, we have equipped our boat with different configurations including: Air conditioning, free Wifi, high quality stereo system and a voltage generator that will allow you to recharge your electronic devices.
In the evening hours, you will be enchanted by the atmosphere of these environments that will be illuminated with soft light making Fenicia a magical and sensational sailboat.

We have an adequate number of diving masks and related aerators for your snorkeling experiences.

The boat is also equipped with a large tender with which our crew will accompany you ashore to develop your holiday.

The main deck

The main deck of Fenicia is extremely elegant, furnished from bow to stern with precious wood, illuminated at night by soft lights on the floor and on the mast that make the environment refined and suggestive. The spacious gangways will allow you to move in total safety in every area of the main deck and at any time of the day.

On the deckhouse, you will find ample cushions on which you can enjoy comfortable moments of relaxation accompanied by fresh aperitifs, stationary or sailing.

On the large cockpit you will be able to share convivial moments tasting delicious dishes prepared by our crew, resting lying on the comfortable sundeck, or sharing during a pleasant game of cards with your travel companions, sheltered if necessary by large spraywood and bimini that will protect you from the wind and humidity of the evening.

The Dinette

The dinette is the focal point of Fenicia: it has been furnished to offer large, bright, elegant and comfortable spaces. With our crew always ready to meet your needs, you can sit in the comfortable leather seats and taste the dishes prepared with care in the onboard kitchen and share pleasant conversations with the crew.

The cabins

The two suites and the Fenicia cabin are luxurious, comfortable and spacious and furnished with precious materials. They are illuminated by large portholes and skylights, with the possibility of using special blinds to make the environment more relaxing. Each of them is built to be soundproofed in connection with the surrounding environment. The cabin reserved for the crew, separated from the remaining areas, will allow us to manage maneuvering activities without disturbing your rest.

Like the other areas of the boat, the three toilets on board are furnished with high quality materials and are extremely spacious.Inside you will find courtesy kits, towel sets, hairdryers and anything else that the crew will have taken care to periodically prepare to guarantee you a high-quality service.
